Your Weekend in Fujiyako

Sep 26
3 min read

Put the phone face-down. Put the kettle on. Find a playlist that can move from café light to storm light without asking permission, and let the week keep its notifications somewhere else.

Fujiyako is already lit at the edges — glass towers holding the last gold, autumn in the air, a capital where ambition and longing ride the same elevator. Jade Black’s Everything After, Book One of The Element of Everything, fits a weekend you actually protect: city pressure, unfinished history, and heat that needs more than a chapter before sleep.

Book promo for Everything After: now available, shown on phone, tablet, and book cover over city street with coffee cup.

Friday night: arrival weather

Once the house goes quiet, the book meets you at street level. Commute clatter softens into evening. Paper-cup steam. Rain sheen on pavement. A skyline that looks expensive and still smells like wet leaves. In Everything After, season is part of the temperature — Halloween warmth, pumpkin-spice hours, a reunion under lights that make people look more honest than they meant to.

Leiliana Collins has moved for a life she intends to keep: dream role in Spherestone’s creative division, a calendar arranged with care, competence with soft edges. Kanakami Mishada works the same floors with polish learned the hard way — Head of Sales, precise, practiced at distance. They aren’t strangers. Pour something warm, dim the overheads, and let the opening stretch pull you past the page you meant to stop on.

Saturday: deep hours in the glass

Morning can stay slow if you want it to — blanket, daylight at the window, the book still open from last night. Daylight Fujiyako runs on desks and deadlines, elevators that take too long, cafés that remember orders, conference rooms bright enough to hide nothing. The charge in Everything After lives in ordinary time: shared accounts, shared hallways, a look across a normal workday that ruins the rest of the afternoon.

Hold a longer block through the middle if you can. Workplace voltage without the cheap power fantasy. Slow burn with memory already in the body. Restraint in public, then heat that doesn’t fade to black when a door finally locks. Her career stays in the frame. His courage looks like staying.

Storm weather tends to arrive in the afternoon stretch — typhoon pressure at the windows, the city closing ranks, nobody as professional as they were at noon. Evening can tip into winter-ball glamour: velvet, silver, formal rooms where honesty slips through the polish. Latte foam beside lightning. Spreadsheet light and a throat full of unsaid things. Cozy and glamorous share the same run of pages, so if you pause, try between movements rather than mid-scene.

Sunday: soft landing, still wanting

The last third likes a quieter room. New Year light at the edges. The serious work of choosing a future on purpose. Found-family warmth where it’s been earned. A love story that ends in decision, not accident — and Book One of a duology that leaves the skyline on for whatever comes next.

You may close the cover and still let the coffee go cold between imagined meetings. Fair trade for a weekend spent inside Fujiyako.

If this is your kind of chair

Chemistry and craft in the same sitting. An FMC who wins at work and in love. Interracial contemporary romance with specific people in a specific city — a Black heroine and a Jiyokoian hero — written as life, not a caption. Spice with weight. Seasonal romance that moves Halloween into storm season into winter ball into New Year without dropping ordinary life — daycare logistics beside velvet, ambition beside desire.
