Vale & Stone Case No. 3 - Coming Early 2027

1 min read

Blackvale, North Carolina sits in the Blue Ridge always ready with a a mystery that assumes you can keep up. The porch light on at Vale House Inn, something sweet cooling in Aunt Sylvia's kitchen, and a town that's been perfectly pleasant to your face for generations. Cressida Vale catches the detail that doesn't belong. Miles Stone hears the sentence that left something out. Together they're the reason you stay up later than you meant to.

J.P. White's next Vale & Stone mystery has a name.

Death on Briarwood Heath.

Book 3 of the Consulting Detectives series, from Cypress & Moss Publishing. Early 2027.

They have an agency now. An actual door (well it’s Aunt Sylvia’s front door, but it’s a door so it counts). Not two people who keep getting pulled into other people's disasters, but an advert that's supposed to handle them on purpose. The case waiting on the other side is the first real test of that. Now it’s time to find out whether Vale & Stone was a good idea or just a very charming habit.

If you've already been to the Midsummer Feast, or through opening night at the Ember Mill, you know wanna go back. If you haven't, Murder at the Midsummer Feast is a wonderful place to walk in, and The Case of the Ember Mill Haunting is waiting after it.

We'll see you in Blackvale. Early 2027. The porch light will still be on.
