Six months ago, Ink & Aether Studios was a plan and a filing. Today it’s a catalog.

What’s in the world

Murder at the Midsummer Feast (J.P. White, Vale & Stone Book 1) opened the studio and introduced Blackvale, North Carolina to readers who made themselves at home in the fog immediately. Available in paperback, ebook and in Kindle Unlimited.

Saltwater Between Us (Jade Black) turned one woman's solo sailing adventure into an island romance she never planned for — a story about choosing love without giving up the freedom that got her there. Also available in paperback, ebook and in Kindle Unlimited.

The Case of the Ember Mill Haunting (J.P. White, Vale & Stone Book 2) launched this week. Miles Stone got his moment. The Ember Mill gave up its secrets. If you haven’t started yet, it’s waiting for you.

What’s coming this fall

Everything After — Jade Black’s first book in The Element of Everything duology — arrives September 22. Contemporary romance. Corporate heir meets self-made creative. A fictional city called Fujiyako that has been living rent-free in Jade’s mind since the concept was first written. Pre-order open now.

What’s coming in 2027

We’re not ready to announce specific titles or timelines. But here’s what we can say.

J.P. White returns to Blackvale twice. Vale & Stone face their first two cases as official consulting detectives. A new member of the Vale House Inn joins family. Aunt Sylvia continues to be the single best source of gossip, baked goods, and deeply inconvenient knowledge the Blue Ridge Mountains has ever produced. Sheriff Dan continues to ask whatever did he do to deserve Trouble Vale in his jurisdiction.

Jade Black moves into new territory. From the warm, layered domestic tension of Everything After into something considerably higher-stakes — secret organizations, espionage, and the kind of thriller energy that makes everything else look leisurely by comparison.

Indigo Winter makes her debut. Kinetic. Wonder-forward. Spectacular in the specific way that only happens when a chaos gremlin with a strategic mind finally gets the page count she needs. We can’t wait.

Stay in the room where it happens

The best way to follow this studio from the inside is through our newsletters.

The Shadow & Ink Ledger: a candlelit corner of the internet for cozy gothic mystery, Southern gothic, and suspense thriller readers who want more than a release announcement.

Letters from the Romance Conservatory: a curated space for contemporary romance, gothic fantasy romance, and romantic suspense readers who want to go somewhere below the surface.

The Stardust Frequency: a kinetic, curiosity-first space for genre fiction readers who refuse to be contained by a single shelf. Science fiction. Fantasy. Space opera. Cozy fantasy. Magical realism. Young adult and new adult adventures.

Inkbound Realms (Studio): the studio press dispatch — new releases, what we’re building, behind the scenes.

This is the work. We’re going to keep building it.
